Game 1: Tallmadge 13, Stow 0
A physical game as the B Team Blue beat the Stow Bulldogs 13-0 in a game that easily could have been a 28-0 blowout. The Devils' defense held the Stow offense to a short series at the start of the game. The B Team offense exploded with a quick score and conversion by Kane as the half ended with a 7-0 Tallmadge lead.B Team Blue ratcheted up the intensity in the second half and were able to overcome some mental errors which negated big runs and scores. Stellar defensive play from Kane as he blasted Bulldog ball carriers on two consecutive plays. The second hit could be heard all the way back to Handel's--on Fishcreek and Graham!!!! Mike B. capped off another defense-wearing drive from the Stow 3 yard line. The conversion did not count, even though my sources say the ball clearly broke the plane of the goal line.
A great start to the season for B Team Blue. Great job by both defensive and offensive lines who have been able to physically wear down their opponents these past two weeks. Great passing and play calling by our QB, Dallas, and strong play from all skilled players. Kudos to our great kicker, Dujuan, and the kicking teams.
Next week, B Team Blue travels to Field. We'll only have one practice before then so rest up be ready!!
A hard fought battle in Mogadore as the B Team Blue comes away with a 7-0 victory. Tough play by the defensive unit highlighted by some bone-crushing hits by Kane and Nick K. held the Wildcats at bay. The Devils' offense struggled early but the line tightened up towards the end eventually wearing out a smaller Mogadore defensive line. Big runs from Andrew F., Kane and Nick K. A big scoring run by Mike B. capped off with a bruising conversion by Chris L. Some questionable refereeing as the Wildcats were allowed to block at the knees of the Devils and tackled too high. Bottom line is, other than some bumps and bruises, nobody was seriously hurt and we brought home a victory!
